Viewtrip is only for itineraries booked through the Travelport GDS. Bookings made through a different GDS (i.e. Amadeus, Sabre) or a different channel (i.e. directly through an airline) will generally not show up there.
You mentioned you booked an Air Canada flight - maybe the booking reference they gave you was the AC one. Try it on AC's website.
Probably correct. Most TAs give the airline's PNR. Some, like Amex PTS, give their GDS's PNR (PTS pushes all bookings to Sabre). Air Canada uses its own reservations system, so an AC PNR can't be viewed in Checkmytrip, VirtuallyThere, etc. You need to ask your TA to push the reservation to Travelport if you want it in Viewtrip.
