Recently, my weekly commute has been GLA - LHR - BSL. The return flight has a 65 minute advertised connection and my experience has not been great.

The incoming flight normally ends up at a Gate close to FCC in 5A and even with that advantage, it's been a bumpy ride.

My strike rate is about 30% connections without issues, 30% made it by the skin of my teeth and the rest being missed, resulting in a seat on the later GLA flight.

Reasons for the latter two categories vary from late incoming aircraft to BAA incompetence (75 minutes to get from gate to gate thanks to their wonderful security system) via being bussed from a domestic gate.

BA have generally been very good and in several cases I've been confirmed on a later flight before I left BSL.

If you're blood pressure will stand it, go for the 60 Minute connection, but be prepared to end up on the later flight.
