1. Currently on vacation in Miami and promised Mrs AF a short trip to the keys but when I came to book the Hilton Key Largo the only room available was one of the best suites. Worse it was only available for one night tomorrow. In the interest of domestic harmony I took it. I note there is no Executive Lounge at the hotel

2. As a Hilton Diamond is there any upgrade I can realistically expect or ask for?

3. Mrs AF thinks we are staying two nights but the web site would not let me book the second night at the hotel as it is fully sold for the second night ( save in an inferior room facing the trees ( don't facing selling that one to Mrs AF when the first night is 4th floor Bay view).

A) what is the Florida law on not checking out and insisting on extending by a day? In some jurisdictions one can stay but have to pay the rack rate.

B) does Diamond status give me any automatic right to extend?

All contributions gratefully received and if there is anything I can help with in London (or Africa) just send a PM.

A).. I really will laugh if the person in your room plays this card and stays on and you get the basic room you mention
The old saying ...."Do to others as you would be done by" springs to mind.

Yes in some states guests enjoy such recourse, although some hotels when sold out for big events eg Superbowl or other event days, will have you sign such rights away before letting you checkin else everyone without a reservation would checkin in the night or two before Superbowl night and refuse to vacate rooms.

B).. NO, But you try to get a Diamond Force, it is upto the individual hotel which room type and rate they will offer you. Sometimes rack rate, sometimes last sold rate for that room.
