After being unceremoniously dumped nearly 3 years ago, I have had a lot of trouble meeting people. This is partly because I travel so much that it's hard to date. I end up doing it mostly online and dating apps pretty much universally suck:

• They claim to be free but for everything to work, you have to pay.
• They tend not to be very good at doing their jobs because it is contrary to their business interest. If you actually meet someone, you'll stop paying.
• Creepy people can send you messages and pictures without you matching them first. Eww, put that thing away!
• You're not immediately notified of matches, so you have to swipe for days to find people. Ever met someone awesome on the last day of your trip? Yeah, that.
• If you do somehow manage to meet someone you have to flip between different apps to find a place to go out.
• They're just not fun to use. It feels like work.
• If you meet someone, the app is supposed to no longer be relevant (although everyone knows it can take a few months of dating before that's really true). So it's super awkward keeping an active account and keeping the app around on your phone.

Anyway, we built Cuddli to fix most of what I think sucks about dating apps and I'd really like to know what FlyerTalkers think.

• We don't plan to make money by charging users directly, so we eliminated the "beg for money" annoyances of other apps.
• We keep you in control of who can talk to you. No more unsolicited pictures of ... bananas
• We built in Foursquare so you can easily and seamlessly find a place to go out even if you just landed in a new city an hour ago. And we have optimized Foursquare to show the best date spots in the city.
• We made a silly dancing game so if you have to dance by yourself in a hotel room you can at least have fun trying to meet other people while you're doing it.
• You can send stickers and emojis and pictures in chat, the way chat should actually work.
• If you meet someone and form a couple you can level up to "couples mode" and still use the app to chat and schedule dates together. (And if it doesn't work out, you can break up!)

Cuddli is in beta right now and it's super buggy so we aren't really promoting it except to friends. And we only have an Android version (sorry, iOS folks, we'll build for iPhone if the app gains traction). Note there's one travel-related feature that isn't enabled yet: "travel mode" (meet people in a different city before you fly there). We need to figure out how to keep spammers from abusing this before we turn it on.
