I have just returned from two weeks in China, and anecdotally, for VPNs, I couldn't get PIA working at all. HK1 and MY1 on PureVPN worked fine as long as it was PPTP and through their China hostnames (hk1/my1.world4china.com). IKEv2 to HK was intermittent.
