New Disposable Headsets???

On a flight from YYC to YVR today I noticed that AC was using 'disposable' headsets. They are a 'clip over the ear' style and quite lightweight. The onboard announcement that was made before they were handed out in coach was to effect "that passengers could keep them when they were finished with them". A similiar comment was made when they cleared the cabin for landing.

The sound quality was ok but I'm not sure why you'd want to keep them, they have the double prong so they probably wouldn't fit into any regulr electronics.

Any one else see/experience them?
