Here's the Brugge Method Data Point. I lowered my credit limit on Exec #4 on 3/11/15 and reapplied today 4/6/15 for #5 but credit obviously hadn't yet been recycled for allocation more than 3.5 weeks later. We know this because they only offered $5000. I will apply for #6 in eight days and then we'll have more data if I get auto approved or if they can open it for more than $5000.
my only Q is why even bother getting the extra $1k from another card. she gave you the min $5k needed for the card as well as to meet the min spend. not to mention these are NPSL cards anyways. so why waste her time in getting a supervisor to sign off etc.
if they're willing to spot you an extra $5k you're nowhere near the max limit with Citi. if you were, you'd be auto denied.
