This is probably due to different Point-of-Sale (Krisflyer phone line will be SIN, website will be departure country). 2-3 years ago, I saw a lower surcharge ex-ICN online compared to what the phone agent was quoting. I had to point this out, and the agent was then able to lower it to the website cost. Not sure whethe the same will apply today.
thanks for that; very likely it's the same scenario. Unfortunately 1) I dd not take screen shots when I made the booking online originally, and 2) when I called SIA back in December, I did not ask her to confirm the surcharge amount.
At least Krisflyer have escalated this issue for further investigation.....
