Does anyone know if I can check my luggage all the way through from Vancouver to Singapore even if I'm transitting in Hong Kong? Or do we have to pick up our check-in bags? We'll be flying Cathay Pacific and have booked tickets via the Cathay website using a single booking. We do have quite a long transit time so would like to go to the city without the check-in baggage.
If you're going to Singapore, and your transit time is less than 24 hours, and you'd just like to go into town for a jalan-jalan, you can ! Don't worry. At YVR, your bags will be checked through to Singapore and you will have your boarding passes. Upon arrival in HKG, you just exit like everyone else, and when you come back, just enter back like normal.
The Airport Express has a same day roundtrip ticket for the same price as a oneway. Just make sure you tell the ticket office that.
