Yes. PPP does not require the claimant be the owner of the item. The transaction simply needs to be paid by AMEX Platinum in full.

For example, a iPhone to your brother as a gift that purchased by your AMEX Platinum entirely is still covered if your brother accidentally drops that into the water.
