Use Global Upgrade, Credit to AS?
Have any DMs done the following:

1) Book a flight on DL (in this case, BOS-JFK-DTW-NRT-BKK-NRT-LAX-ATL-BOS!)
2) Successfully apply a global upgrade to the reservation
3) Ask to have your FF# changed from your DL# to an AS#
4) Received AS miles/MQM (presumably in the original fare class) for the flights?
