I just made an award reservation (Premier Gold). $25 service fee. Flight is in 20 hours. An hour later, I had a change of plans and cancelled the reservation. But in the refund notice, it says $25 Service Fee will not be refunded.
Is this new? I thought we could always cancel any flight within 24 hours of the reservation with a full refund?
It states in the refund section of united.com,
Booking service fees
Reservation booking service fees and close-in booking fees for award tickets are refundable only if you cancel your reservation within 24 hours of purchase. If you have purchased a ticket from United in the last 24 hours, go to Manage Reservations to cancel your reservation or contact the United Customer Contact Center for assistance.
