I have since received an email from Aegean, in which they state a different reason for no credit: UA maintains that the name I used in the retro credit doesn't match the ticketed name. (That may be related to a sort-of-mismatch between ticket and boarding pass.) Aegean asked me to submit a scan of my boarding pass, which I have done recently.
