Booked suite but reservation inexplicably changed to standard room?

In transit on our way to JW Marriott Desert Ridge for a 7 night stay. I had booked a suite for our stay - first 2 nights for cash and last 5 using points + cash upgrade. I happened to be checking on the reservation online earlier today when I noticed that the room type showed it was just a standard king size room. During our layover, I called the property and the agent confirmed that I had booked a suite but that it had somehow been changed to a standard room. She had no immediate explanation for what happened and she didn't have a solution by the time I needed to board my connecting flight. When I try to do a search for a new reservation online for my dates, the suite type I originally booked does not appear. If they are not unable to accommodate me in the room type I booked and I need to take an involuntary downgrade, what type of compensation would be reasonable given that my reservation still shows the applicable rates for a suite?
