Agree completely, it was a huge let-down. On the other hand, OP is going to the non-BA lounge which - you would hope - must be better.
I wouldn't bet on it. The KLM lounges are also a huge let down where you would expect better at their home airport. Trying to make a meal out of the limited selection they serve at any time of the day is difficult.
So much so, I don't bother anymore and go elsewhere and stop their for a drink only if its on the way.
