Especially when you want to book a table in the restaurant, I recommend a direct contact.
Maybe, if the hotel is sold out, you get another room in the village, but the restaurant is worth visiting. And the riesling from Mr. Schanz sr. is very nice, too ... (our wine tasting with him went on till 1 am!)
