I find them very hit and miss on this.
I was flying JFK - HKG - SGN in J (op-upped to F) and the flight was more than 1 hour late into HKG resulting in a very tight connection. There was no one at the bridge waiting for us, despite us deplaning after the stated boarding time for the HKG - SGN flight. Ground staff told us to run.
I was really irritated w. CX that day. Thankfully we landed in the 20s and only had to get to 17, and we made the flight. Our bags didn't make it.
V poor service. I meant to complain, but forgot. Now I am angry all over again, so I may send in that email I had been planning to send.
