I don't think the OP was suggesting just leaving baggage unattended overnight in the lounge but checking it in with the staff. That is what I have done at the HEL lounge. Well - asking them if I can store luggage overnight in the cabinets in front of their desk.
On the other point in
orbitmic's reply: Wouldn't somebody trying to bring explosives to airside try to actually get them on board an aircraft ? Maybe not, I'm not an expert in that field. In any case: Some airside lounges have luggage storing facilities and after something is left stored the security scenario does not change much over short period of time.
