Hello all, I'm hoping somebody has some insight as to whether or not its possible to pay for a reservation with a corporate card but use personal funds for an upgrade.

I'll be traveling to Pittsburgh for business, looking at staying at the North Shore Residence Inn. Our corporate policy allows us to book any hotel, however we have to book a standard room. Since I'm hoping to bring my family on this trip I would like to be able to book the standard room at our Corporate rate and then use my own funds to pay to upgrade to a one-bedroom suite. I first called the downtown Courtyard who said they didn't think it was possible, so I was wondering if anybody has had any luck doing this or can think of another way around this. I was told that I could put in a request for an upgrade, but since I don't have any status anymore I don't want to rely on that. Any tips or suggestions?
