Of course you're right about me being on a business visa, but I advise everyone here --who desires longer stays-- to go the business visa route as well.
While I'm unable to 拉关系 for everyone under the sun, you really just need to find a Chinese company to act as the inviter and do as much leg work as possible on your own (e.g. make the letter perfect in all respects, demand letterhead, ems original to yourself) for them. PRC consulates love beautifully prepared documents!

The 60 day default is a serious drawback to these 10-year visas, so it's worth doing the prep work necessary to get more.
