First off, you need 9400 - 6060 = 3340 miles as your math was off by 1000 miles.
You have a few options here on these flights assuming these are full fare coach tickets and not First Class which would earn a Q point bonus which might help you qualify on Q points instead of Q miles.
Here are the AA fare rules for these flights.
1. ROUTING 3 FROM DFW-
TO AA-STL-AA-WAS*
OR TO AA-CHI-AA-WAS*
FROM-TO DFW-AA-CHI-AA-STL-AA-WAS*
2. ROUTING 5 FROM-TO DFW-AA-CHI*
FROM-TO DFW-AA-TUL/STL/OKC/MKC/DSM-AA- CHI*
3. ROUTING 5 FROM-TO DFW-AA-STL-AA-RDU* FROM-TO DFW-AA-RDU*
If you can find flight times on AA that work, you can fly DFW-ORD-STL-IAD for 2023 Q miles each way versus 1172 nonstop.
DFW-OKC-MDW for 1191 each way versus 797 nonstop.
DFW-STL-RDU for 1217 each way versus 1061 nonstop.
This would earn 2023 2023 1191 1191 1217 1217 for a total of 8862 Q miles which brings you 538 Q miles short.
Then, you can fly an extra round trip flight to OKC, IAH, AUS or SAT same day return cheaply and get the extra 1000 miles to go over 25,000.
It is easy to change the MDW flight connecting in OKC and the RDU connecting in STL for the extra miles. The IAD flight can get bothersome with the extra connections.
You also might consider the current fares and double bonus miles on Baltimore 1215, Atlanta 730 or Orlando 983 Q miles each way on the promo ( Airtran ) as a mileage run with same day return. All the fares similiar and Baltimore is best for 2430 extra Q miles.
Check your current totals for Q miles and Q points. 25,000 of either will make Gold and AA usually allows a 500 mile leeway so 24,500 should be enough to do it, but call AAdvantage Gold to verify this.
You can add some extra miles on any of these flights if you have the time for connections or do an extra trip or a mileage run.
