Two weeks later, letter of confirmation from the Vatican arrived in the mail.

I would applaud Amex for that. I remember having to buy tickets to the Vatican online a few years ago, it was a very frustrating experience. For an organization with over a billion members, you'd think they may have a pretty decent IT department (for the record, I'm one of those members). But they don't.
