To start, my wife has around 117k Skypesos and I have right at 60k. I also have 50k WN points + a Companion Pass.

My wife and I are looking at flying to Jamaica and are debating if we want to use a Delta or WN award. Delta would run us 120k combined for First Class (140k for economy) and WN is right at 35k for both of us due to the CP. DL would depart from our home airport and WN requires a 1.5 hour drive.

My feelings are that WN points are much more valuable for us for domestic travel while I still have the CP, so I am thinking of burning some SkyPesos while we have them. FWIW, I also have 400k+ AA miles, but I save those for long-haul international flights.

Does it make sense to burn the Skypesos or would you use the WN points? The only other time my wife flies DL is a couple long-haul trips each year for business. I don't fly them at all unless it is accompanying her on business travel. We occasionally use DL for positioning flights where WN is not as convenient. We do use WN quite a bit to take last minute weekend getaways b/c the flexibility is nice...
