I have the same issue. I was booked on an award ticket in J EWR - LHR - GVA on a Dreamliner. Now the EWR - LHR leg is on a 3 class 767.

Is it possible to get UA to put me on a EWR - GVA direct?

UPDATE: Called and got the direct flight with no problem.
