Wineries:
Very good Riesling at Maximin Grünhaus (
www.vonschubert.com). Some of their vinyards have been cultivated since Roman times. And Bischöfliche Weingüter Trier (
www.bischoeflicheweingueter.de) for the sheer feeling of history when visiting their caves in Trier.
In Luxembourg, Bernard Massard (
www.bernard-massard.lu/en/) do some decent sparkling, and their caves in Grevenmacher are open for visitors.
Luxembourg - we will probably eat early dinner and move back DE
Trier spots - all very good, looks like there's Bernard Massard in Trier too
So here's what it looks like:
- spending one night in Freyburg to see Saale area
- Mosel: 2 days in Wasserliesch, 3 days in Ürzig, 2 days in Mehring
- Pfalz: 2 days in Deidesheim, Sankt Martin
- R-H: 1 day in Osthofen, 2 days in Nackenheim
In each of those locations we'll have quite interesting wineries / restaurants within walk or a short taxi ride.
