You didn't tell us what you asked for in the original e-mail, but based on the response, it appears it was IDB compensation.
As noted above, that was probably a fatal error in obtaining good will compensation.
It's outlined in the first bolded section or my update. I requested IDB compensation and yes, it was an error to do that. [pokes self in the eye] Lesson learned.
