Your child's condition may warrant something more like the powered unit, but it's worth asking the doctor if you can use the 'puff' type unit that is easily carried in a purse or small bag (and isn't electric).
The "puffers" are usually called "inhalers" and it can be a little hard for very young kids to get the hang of using them.

(In fact, it can be hard for some adults to get the hang of using them correctly, but that's another story. )
