Not exactly what you are asking, but account fee probably won't be on the first statement with that close a closing date.
Main thing I wanted to accomplish was getting bonus miles and closing the card as soon as possible in order to free up credit for the next round of apps in 60 days. Figure if I had time to squeeze in the spend and get the miles before this short statement closed, it'd be that much more likely to get the CL freed up prior to the next app cycle.
