You're partially right. The vast majority of AAVacations bookings are in S class as well. L, S and V class bookings on AAVacations are not upgradable with miles (and I assume VIPxx). You must pay extra to get into at least N class first. (I've been there, done that.) All classes of AA flights from Site59 and AAVacations are eligible for domestic e-upgrades per the normal rules.</font>
Well we're both partially right. L and V are upgradeable using miles or VIPxx. Only non upgradeable fares on the VIP03 are: I, O, S or W, (or Q's that do not originate in US.) Same as a 25000 miles UPG. Like I said, my last AAvacations.com last minute booking, to LGW, there were no problems UPG with VIPOW's, though the ticket said "BT" for the total fare. Who knows what that may be though in the past I have only seen that on Bulk fare through consolidators or CheapTickets.
There is full mileage credit and 1/2 Q point as with any discount fare coach fare.
Also, the save59 code is a MasterCard promo. I'm not aware of any Visa deal so ask for a AA Citibank MC.
I don't think there will be any problem with Marriott Rewards credit, but I'll let you know after I stay at the Ren, on 11/1.
