In 5 years of being 1K, I have never failed to use up my allotment of GPUs and RPUs. If you know how to search for them, and are flexible in your timing (by no more than a few days) or your destination (e.g., MEL instead of SYD; AMS instead of BRU), you will succeed in finding R space.
