How large was the aircraft from Cyprus? TATL aircraft are more likely to be able to takeoff and land with strong crosswinds.

In fact, one spring Friday afternoon PMNW was cancelling flight after flight on the ORD-MSP route due to wind. Then, to save lots of business travelers from being stranded in Chicago for an additional night, they pulled an old spare 747 out of the hanger and flew it down to scoop everyone up and bring them home. After the rebooking, I ended up on the upper deck and got to enjoy the old-style circular staircase and chandelier from the 1970s.
