A little background first-I'm a middle-aged(all right, a little more than middle aged) female who has never traveled alone and hasn't been to Europe or Asia. My life has changed a lot over the past year and I expect to be doing a lot of solo traveling in the future. I would love to do JFK-NRT next weekend but frankly, I'm scared to do it alone. With a planned trip to FL next month and 1 more short flight, I could make Platinum on the challenge. Is NRT safe for a solo female? How long is the flight in real hours and would I be able to stand it in coach? My other barriers are:
1)I'd have to take 2 days off from work.
2)Need a hotel and food and spending money for 2 nights-Money is somewhat of a consideration right now.
3)I haven't a clue what there is to do and see in and around NRT.

I know I sound like a big baby here, so encourage me and be kind.
