So I'm sitting here at CLD waiting for the inbound from LAX to take us back there. It is foggy outside. The plane is not allowed to take off from LAX due to said fog. Why is this? Why can't planes fly in the fog? Are the pilots only CFR rated? I would assume they are IFR rated and as such why can't they fly in the fog?
