Just completed two nights at the Hyatt House downtown. Overall a good experience. As others have noted, the property is brand new. Location is literally across the street from Energy Solutions Arena. The Gateway Mall is right behind the property. Temple Square and downtown areas are an easy walk, about half a mile away. Free parking in the garage adjacent to the hotel.

Staff was super nice and friendly, especially at check-in. We had booked a studio suite and that's what we got - a studio suite on the 5th floor, at the corner, on the quiet side of the building, so no traffic noise. Room was nice, except the bed and pillows were rock hard. Really wished the windows opened, as the whole property still has a none-too-pleasant new construction smell.

The lobby is really pleasant, with a ton of different seating areas and a large outdoor patio. Now if only they'd do something about the too-bright fluorescent lighting . . . .

We loved the Red Iguana.
