Even if I asked for cheese plate, I would still want the opportunity to have the F meal as well if it was allowed....the cheese plate is more of a snack or appetizer, not a full meal.
As are most of what's served on AS's 2-3 hour routes, like the cookies or the warmed nuts... even the salads/chicken breasts/whatever are not exactly full meals.
