Having worked in the Asian consolidator business, December travel is the peak of the peak seasons for Asia. Seats are scarce and prices are high. Weather is not cold at all compared to Europe. You've got students returning home for a break, families on vacations, and everyone else. The worst is between the 2nd week of December and December 24th. Also, forget about the first 2 weeks of January.
