Eventually, they gave up (AMEX) and made me pay the whole bill. Anyway, I was out the $$. I rebooked the R/T on Lufthansa for about the same price from FRA-LHR. Much more convenient anyway. So thats my $.02 on Ryan Air. I guess you can't turn down free tickets though.

If the company does not respond within 3 months then you win the dispute and don't have to pay the disputed charge. AMEX is especially good about this.
