Two further developments:
(1) The UK government has authorized body scanners to be used as primary screening, which was not the case before.
(2) The new German manufacturer Rohde & Schwarz has had its Quick Personnel Scanner 100 and 200 devices authorized for use in the UK. These vertical opaque scanners are deployed in sets of one, two, or three and do not require passengers to assume the surrender position.
