I couldn't disagree more.
I do not think this will reduce the risk in any significant margin, and that is a risk that was infinitesimally small to begin with.
Its a show to quell peoples' irrational fears.
I can understand airlines implementing it; only to avoid a drop in revenue. But the government doing this just feeds peoples irrational insecurities. That money could be better spent elsewhere.
I'm disappointed in humanity, once again.
