When will the aviation industry and regulators grow up? How does taking a metal nail clipper off a passenger, then serving them a sharp metal fork with dinner on board.
The dangers of one pilot alone in the cockpit were obvious. But no, this needless loss of life had to happen before several airlines desperately and hysterically decide to change their policy all of a sudden to make it mandatory for two crew members to be in the cockpit at all times.
Some of the gaps in the system are outrageous and it doesn't inspire confidence in the "safest mode of travel".
Best post so far, thank you! The paranoia caused by overreaction did not only lead to the chicanes we are undergoing when flying (nail clipper etc...), but finally also sadly backfired. Time for big changes.
P.S.: And unfortunately I was right with my early thoughts (or in FT terms "speculations") - planes do not fall from the sky and the A 320 is the pride of European technology in which I trust.
