But there is a way to reenter the city from the departure side of the airport. You could tell the lounge agent that you would like to go back to the city, and they will take you through a series of backdoors to be back on landside. I never tried, nor do I intend to in the future so can't comment on how much of a hassle this can be.
I'd use the arrivals lounge but I read it is a zoo and very crowded in the mornings with a wait for showers. I don't want to waste any of the time I have of the 12 hour Hong Kong stopover.
