Random question, trying to determine whether my experiences match other frequent travelers on Alaska and QX flights.

Specifically, on QX flights we have a boarding time of let's say 8:00am. Boarding is set to begin at 7:40am. You wait at the gate at 7:40, no boarding yet. You look out the window and might even notice the plane isn't there. About 5 minutes AFTER boarding was supposed to start, you get notice of a 20 minute , 1 hour, etc delay....

I don't have this problem when flying United or other airlines, it seems that Alaska and QX flights purposely wait until PAST boarding time to delay the flight, unless it's already set to be extremely late. Frustrates me a bit, because I could spend less time at the airport (or at the specific gate for boarding).

Maybe this is airline snobbery here, but I consistently have this experience.
