What I don't understand is that both Airbus (and FBW Boeing) are designed to keep you within the flight envelope. Moreover, they yell at you if you forget to drop your landing gear ("Landing gear! Landing gear!"); they yell at you if your descent rate is too high and you're near the ground ("Pull up! Pull up!"); and they yell at you if you're near terrain ("Terrain! Terrain!"). It blows my mind why the same flight envelope protections do not prevent intentionally flying into the ground. Seems to me that flying into the ground is per se taking the plane out of its flight envelope. So what gives??
