If it's a 50-seat CRJ with one FA, the pilot should not be allowed to leave the cockpit unless there is a non-revving crewmember who can be pressed into service. 50-seat RJ flights aren't usually very long. As my dad said many times "You better go before we leave because we're not stopping."
I know this is a DL thread but UA routinely flies an E145 IAH-MSP-IAH with block time around 3 hrs. I don't know how you work around the issue MSPeconomist mentioned.
Thankfully DL flies at least a CR7 to IAH from here, so 2 FAs (and C+, and some tiny percent chance of an UG to F).
