Yup, Marriott/Ritz program is a joke. Bunch of crooks running that thing. You can transfer to an airline for an aspirational award if you want. Singapore is an option as are almost all of the top airline programs.
And yes I got the $395 refunded after I had already maxed out 2014 and 2015 reimbursement credits. Pretty sweet ^
