I don't think BA has married segment reward space - it's married segment revenue space where an upgrade is being requested on only one of the revenue segments that's the problem here and other times I've seen it. I don't remember seeing a BA PNR that had married reward segments.
AA and CX yes, that was a pain. My AA counterpart said it annoyed her too, that AA segments, booked individually, would elope and marry themselves off...
