If your airline is not listed, then the minimum connection time is 110 or 120 minutes, depends on airline:

Either 110 or 120, noon time flight is out of the question, and they won't let you board the ferry.

So, it's not a question of whether you're comfortable or not. It's whether it's allowed or not. If your airline participate for the Macau check-in service listed in the first link, you have plenty of time to do the transfer.

As for other means, for a noon time flight, technically, you can check-in at HK Airport Express station in Central as late as 10:30a. Check this page to see if your airline participate:

It's an hour ferry from Macau to Hong Kong Island, then you have to go through immigration and then it's either a 12-minute walk or 2-minute by taxi ride to Hong Kong station. So, you can do the maths.

Realistically, 8:45a is probably the last ferry which I'd be comfortable with.
Thank you for all of the details, it is greatly appreciated.

I agree, I will catch the 8:00 or 8:45 for my noon flight on 4 May.

One last question. It looks like the ferry runs every 15 minutes for the most part, should I buy my ticket in advance on their website, or just wait until I arrive in HKG airport? The only reason I am hesitant to buy my ferry ticket early online is because what if my flight is delayed and I miss my ticketed ferry?
