That sounds like a good idea, just make sure you qualify for visa on arrival (to be paid by credit card only!) or free entry
Btw: most hotels have desks at the airport, they also arrange Transfers then.. Or book in advance for ease of mind.
And if you haven't been: make sure to have dinner & a walk in souq waqif in the evening!
