shonky, we're in house (at the Millennium) now (since 3/21). We've not stayed in anything here larger than a jr. suite, but we really like the property, as the indoor pool is ample and warm; and the upper floors are quiet as most of the WTC loud construction seems over. From what I hear, i'd tend to take the comp suite offer, unless you need even more space.
Breakfast is a bit better on weekdays as there's smoked salmon and strawberries. Golds pay a $4 up-charge anyday to go from the continental buffet (cold items) to the hot, full buffet. Don't remember if they waive the up charge for Diamonds. There's always ample protein on the Continental part of the bkfst. for us.
While the property lacks Midtown convenience, it's generally only a 15 min. subway ride to Times Sq./Theatre Dist. About four subway lines are within one block -- or less -- from the Hotel.
BrlDsguise, both room types you mentioned are their smallest room sizes. To see an improvement, you need to be in at least a Cityview Deluxe corner King on the highest floors. If you come in early enough on Friday, as a Diamond, hopefully you can get an upgrade to that or to a high floor jr. suite. In those jr. suites, the bed area is somewhat compact but there's a nice parlor with a sofa and TV. Once you've been in either of these room types, the two you mentioned seem small.
