Usually prepaid is cheaper, which is why people choose it. If the OP had selected prepaid at the time the reservation was made, presumably the rate would have been lower.
Any time I ever look up a reservation using my Amex Cent CDP code, the post-paid comes out cheaper than the pre-paid rate. So far, anyway and it's been like this for years.
